About the role#
NXP is looking for a Physical Analysis Lab Intern for the summer of 2027. You will join the Physical Analysis Labs team in Austin to support quality control and contamination monitoring. This role involves direct work with manufacturing chemicals and analytical instrumentation. You will have the chance to learn from experienced chemists and engineers while managing your own daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine work with hazardous chemicals in both wet lab and cleanroom environments.
- Monitor contamination levels on wafers and in the ambient environment.
- Maintain quality control for a wide range of manufacturing chemicals.
- Assist in investigations to identify the root causes of failures.
- Operate various analytical tools including VPD-ICP-MS, HPLC, HPIC, TOC, GC, Raman spectroscopy, and XRF.
- Prioritize safety in every task.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- Must be returning to school or graduating at the end of the internship term.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliability and dependability are critical.
- Ability to learn new processes quickly.
