About the role#
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) offers internship opportunities for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience within an international health agency. This program provides a framework for interns to contribute to departmental projects while learning about the technical cooperation work PAHO conducts across the Americas. Interns are supervised by technical experts and assigned projects based on their specific skill sets and academic backgrounds.
What you'll do#
- Review literature and conduct literature surveys.
- Undertake web research and data collection on specific subject areas.
- Organize data and documents.
- Assist in drafting, formatting, and editing policy briefs, tool kits, guides, manuals, hand-outs, brochures, and reports.
- Participate in on-going departmental projects.
What you'll need#
- You must be in the final academic year of a bachelor's degree, currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program, or have graduated within the last two years.
- Applicants must be at least twenty years of age.
- Fluency in one of PAHO's working languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French) is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary.
- Knowledge of statistical software, such as XLStat, is considered an advantage.
- Relevant majors include Public Health, Health Administration, Biology, Communications, Human Resources, Statistics, International Relations, and Psychology.
