About the role#
This position is part of the Student Employee Pool for the Arts and Sciences department at Parkland College. It is a paid role with a rolling term and remote work modality.
What you'll do#
- Answer phone calls and greet visitors, providing information or taking messages as needed.
- Manage both paper and electronic filing systems by recording information and updating paperwork.
- File and retrieve documents, records, and reports.
- Operate office equipment, including copiers, PCs, and phone systems.
- Assist with website content updates.
- Handle incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.
- Complete forms according to department procedures and assist with special projects or events.
What you'll need#
- You must meet all eligibility requirements for student employment as determined by Financial Aid.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and filing systems.
- Strong communication skills for both in-person and phone interactions.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
