About the role#
Parkland College is hiring for the Career and Technical Education student employee pool. These are part-time, temporary positions capped at 19 hours per week. Schedules vary based on department needs, typically falling between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
What you'll do#
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and handle inquiries or messages.
- Manage filing systems, including organizing, retrieving, and updating documents and records.
- Sort and distribute mail, faxes, and email.
- Produce documents using Microsoft Office and assist with data entry.
- Organize, clean, and inventory laboratory spaces and equipment.
- Help with special projects, research tasks, and events as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must meet all student employment eligibility requirements as determined by Financial Aid.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and filing systems.
- Strong spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and learn new computer systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications like Access, Excel, and Word is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
