About the role#
Peraton is hiring Co-Op Engineers for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in either Blacksburg or Herndon, Virginia. You will work 40 hours per week supporting various government programs and contracts.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test technology solutions in areas like cybersecurity, satellite ground systems, information management, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
- Work within a collaborative, team-oriented Agile software development environment.
- Gain professional experience while under direct supervision.
What you'll need#
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Progress toward a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with software development or scripting languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Bash.
- Hands-on experience gained through coursework or previous internships.
- Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
- A High School Diploma and some advanced level training.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are preferred.
- An existing, active security clearance is a plus.
