About the role#
PrimeLending is hiring an Internal Audit Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role works directly with the Internal Audit Manager to learn audit functions within the financial services industry. You will assist with key initiatives and gain hands-on experience in risk management, internal controls, and governance processes.
What you'll do#
- Perform audit tests of SOX, business, and IT general controls.
- Check sampled evidence documentation against specific criteria.
- Identify and discuss audit exceptions with management.
- Fill out workpaper templates to document test results and conclusions.
- Draft language for identified issues to be reported.
- Attend SOX process walkthrough interviews to take notes and complete documentation.
- Report on the status of your work to your manager.
- Learn audit methodology aligned with Institute of Internal Auditors standards.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior standing in an academic program, preferably in Accounting or Audit.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and follow tasks to completion.
- 0 to 1 year of work experience is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
