About the role#
This is a full-time Mechanical Engineering Co-op position at Collins Aerospace, supporting the Electric Power Systems department. You will assist with the design, testing, and manufacturing of aircraft generators and motors. This role requires a commitment to work on-site in Rockford, Illinois, for the Winter and Spring 2027 terms. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
What you'll do#
- Support Electric Power Generator and Motor product lines.
- Interact with customers to provide support for their products in the field.
- Write reports, support assembly processes, and assist with test activities.
- Witness and contribute to development and qualification testing.
- Gain professional experience in workplace responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage project-related tasks and documentation, including writing CRs.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Active enrollment through the end of the co-op session.
- Minimum of 60 credit hours completed by the start date.
- Experience with MATLAB.
- Experience with CAD software, such as Creo, SolidWorks, or NX.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience managing projects and working on cross-functional teams.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience with RTX is preferred.
