About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics builds modular spacecraft components that dock and latch to form larger structures in orbit. We are looking for a mechanical engineering intern to join our team in Golden, Colorado. You will contribute directly to the development and assembly of flight hardware. This is a full-time, paid position for the Spring 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Design and iterate on structural components and docking interface hardware.
- Manage thermal requirements for onboard electronics and battery packs.
- Integrate electronics, power systems, and sensors into tight hardware envelopes.
- Develop and refine harness and connector layouts between internal subsystems.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis to validate designs before building.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Onshape, NX, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
- Understanding of structural and thermal analysis principles.
- Experience designing for space environments including vacuum, thermal cycling, and radiation shielding.
- Hands-on experience with machining, 3D printing, or prototyping.
- Familiarity with FEA tools and ruggedized connector design.
- Applicants must meet U.S. Government export regulation requirements (ITAR).
