About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics builds modular spacecraft components that assemble themselves in orbit. We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern for the Spring 2027 term to join our team in Golden, Colorado. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role for 12 to 15 weeks. You will work directly on flight software and ground operations as we move from demonstration to operational systems.
What you'll do#
- Write and test flight software for our onboard compute platform.
- Build tools for ground station operations, including telemetry visualization and command sequencing.
- Develop communication protocols for units that maintain connectivity as the assembly changes shape.
- Create simulation environments to test new logic before deployment to hardware.
- Debug issues across the software and hardware boundary alongside our electrical team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Knowledge of basic networking and distributed systems.
- Experience with embedded Linux or bare-metal firmware.
- Familiarity with embedded toolchains and frameworks.
- Exposure to real-time operating systems, scheduling constraints, and common embedded communication buses is helpful.
- Practical experience with robotics, drones, or satellite projects.
- Due to ITAR regulations, you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
