About the role#
RESA Power is hiring a Field Tech Summer Student for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship role. You will work under the direction of field leadership to support operations and complete customer orders. This position requires the ability to work away from your home location for multiple days or weeks at a time.
What you'll do#
- Perform electrical and fluid testing and general troubleshooting.
- Maintain, test, rebuild, retrofit, and repair electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and breakers.
- Complete test reports that meet company and customer standards.
- Communicate with management to resolve problems and transfer information regarding active jobs.
- Maintain client relationships, prepare project estimates, and assist with negotiating extra charges.
- Work in the shop when not assigned to field jobs.
- Inspect customer sites to identify problems and report findings to project management.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a diploma program for Technologist or Trades, with at least 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of safety standards and industry standards, including NETA, IEEE, and NFPA.
- Mechanical skills and experience with low or high voltage equipment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report creation.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members, departments, and customers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, crawl, climb, stand for long periods, and work in various conditions.
- A valid driver's license if the role requires the use of a company vehicle.
