About the role#
This is a paid, 12-week internship based in Dayton, Ohio. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM. This position offers hands-on experience in the HVAC distribution industry and provides exposure to warehouse operations, inventory management, and sales.
What you'll do#
- Apply operational policies to support daily warehouse functions.
- Assist with strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Manage inventory tasks such as shipping, receiving, stocking, and performing cycle counts.
- Collaborate across departments to support overall performance.
- Develop technical knowledge of ERP systems and distribution software.
- Shadow counter sales and join outside sales representatives on ride-alongs to learn about the sales process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related program.
- Ability to commit to the full 12-week, 40-hour per week schedule.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
- Capacity for continuous physical activity including walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and carrying.
- Ability to work in an unconditioned warehouse environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
