About the role#
As an Avionics Engineering Intern, you will join the hardware development group within the Neutron Avionics team. You will focus on the Archimedes engine and destruct system hardware used within the Flight Safety System. You will work alongside mentors and other employees to apply your engineering knowledge to solve real challenges and grow your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the future architecture of Avionics.
- Perform hardware development for electronics.
- Execute test campaigns to validate hardware.
- Generate new production assets to accelerate our rocket build rate.
- Attend frequent 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors for feedback and progress updates.
- Participate in tech talks and network with other interns and employees through events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or mathematics.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, including internships, laboratory work, or personal and team projects.
- Ability to work full-time and on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks starting in May or June 2027.
Preferred qualifications include:
- A GPA of 3.5 or above.
- 6+ months of applied engineering experience.
- Experience with CAD/CAM, Python, GD&T, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience with ANSYS, Siemens NX, and Altium.
- Experience designing or building electrical or electromechanical hardware.
