About the role#
RockSol Consulting Group, Inc. is hiring an Engineering Student Intern to support roadway and transportation projects. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Denver, Colorado. You will gain hands-on experience in civil engineering by applying standard techniques to office and field assignments.
What you'll do#
- Perform various engineering assignments of limited scope.
- Participate in on-site activities such as construction inspection, materials testing, and field data collection.
- Handle client documentation and assist with research or quantity calculations.
- Develop design drawings using computer-aided design tools.
- Analyze data for routine engineering tasks under the guidance of Project Managers and Senior Engineers.
- Adhere to the requirements of the Company Quality Management System.
- Travel to project sites and perform fieldwork as needed.
- Obtain required certifications for the position.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Civil or Structural Engineering at an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a project team.
- Willingness to accept direction and constructive feedback.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Experience with engineering software systems.
- Ability to travel to work sites for extended periods and work nontraditional or extended hours.
- Previous industry internship or work experience is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D is desirable.
Location & details#
- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Compensation: $21 to $23 per hour, depending on experience.
- Term: Rolling.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
