About the role#
As a Managed IT Services Service Desk Consulting Intern, you will join our Technology Consulting group for the Winter 2027 term. You will work directly with experienced consultants on various projects and engagements. This role provides remote technical support to external clients in a team environment. Please note that for quality assurance and training purposes, client-facing service desk calls are recorded. You will be required to sign a consent form regarding these recordings upon your start date.
What you'll do#
- Provide phone and email technical support to resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
- Troubleshoot workstations, servers, and network-related issues.
- Perform systems administration for Windows Servers, Office 365, and workstations across multiple client environments.
- Manage cases based on priority and impact while maintaining clear documentation in our ticketing system.
- Monitor and troubleshoot client backups.
- Escalate issues through proper channels and communicate with clients until resolution.
- Analyze reported case trends to identify potential chronic infrastructure or software issues.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to security standards.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or an IT-related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of Apple and Windows-based hardware and software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Experience with Office 365, including SharePoint and Email workloads.
- Familiarity with Windows Servers, Azure AD, Teams administration, and enterprise mobile devices.
- Experience with remote solutions like VPN, Citrix, and Remote Desktop Services.
- Experience with firewall technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, or SonicWALL.
- Experience with VMWare ESX hosts and vSphere Client.
- Ability to arrange your own reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
