About the role#
As a Federal Tax Consulting Intern in the National Tax Office, you will work alongside our professionals to address complex tax matters. You will contribute to meaningful projects, gaining exposure to corporate, partnership, and individual taxation. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience, and you will be treated as a member of our entry-level staff.
What you'll do#
- Consult on tax planning strategies to meet business and individual objectives.
- Research technical tax positions and draft memos for federal tax matters.
- Assist National Tax Office professionals with the analysis of legislative, regulatory, and administrative tax developments.
- Support federal tax consulting projects across various industries.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- A strong interest in federal taxation, tax consulting, and technical research.
- An intention to pursue CPA licensure.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

- Locations: Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Detroit, East Lansing, Flint, Grand Rapids, Macomb, and Southfield, MI; Chicago and Schaumburg, IL; Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus, OH; Denver, CO.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship. Please note that this position may require work hours exceeding 40 hours per week and occasional travel.
