About the role#
The Field Engineer Summer Intern is an entry-level position that reports to the Superintendent, with indirect reporting to the Project Manager. This role helps the project team complete a designated project while providing you with hands-on experience in field and office operations. You will see how these efforts relate to the physical construction of a project.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate shop drawings.
- Provide support to office and field staff.
- Estimate and perform quantity take-offs.
- Purchase materials needed to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain inventory of materials and equipment at the project site.
- Monitor schedules and update them as needed.
- Track assigned subcontracts, including subcontractor schedules and manpower.
- Assist with preparing billings and reviewing invoices.
- Perform other assignments as directed by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- A 4-year college degree, preferably in a construction-related field such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or Environmental Engineering.
- The ability to assume responsibility and work well with the project team.
- Verification of your eligibility to work in the United States.
