About the role#
SageSure is hiring an Actuarial Intern to join our Product Development and Commercial teams. You will work on predicting and modeling risk within the property insurance market. This role involves working across multiple actuarial disciplines, including pricing and product development. You will receive coaching and feedback from our team while contributing to real business projects.
What you'll do#
- Apply actuarial techniques to develop pricing plans.
- Provide analytical assessments of complex business issues.
- Support modeling, research, and analysis for ad-hoc projects.
- Complete a collaborative or individual Capstone project.
- Recommend solutions to industry challenges.
- Network with employees, leaders, and fellow interns.
- Fulfill tasks assigned by team leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student in Actuarial Science or a STEM field with a graduation date in 2028.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Passage of at least one actuarial exam is preferred.
- Prior internship experience is preferred.
- Technical knowledge in programming languages, modeling packages, or database software is a plus, with familiarity in R being highly beneficial.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Work is on-site in either Cheshire, Connecticut, or Chicago, Illinois.
- The term is rolling.
