About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to gain professional experience within the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe operations or its various business enterprises. You will work under the supervision of the Tribal Development Coordinator and receive mentorship from department directors. The program aims to align your academic goals with practical work experience in areas related to your degree. Placements are determined based on organizational needs and your specific field of study.
What you'll do#
- Intern within Tribal Operations or other tribal enterprises.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
- Complete all internship requirements within the assigned program timeframe.
- Provide customer service for internal and external customers of the operations.
- Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and other privacy regulations.
- Participate in cultural and academic professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with associates to learn about tribal enterprises.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment as a student at a college or university.
- A cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher.
- Ability to submit an official transcript and class schedule during the recruitment process.
- Submission of a completed Internship packet and signed Internship Agreement.
- Proficiency in Windows environments, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to obtain HIPAA certification.

- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
