About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Salas O'Brien, you will gain hands-on technical experience beyond the classroom. You will work alongside engineer mentors to apply textbook knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. This role offers the chance to participate in various projects while developing essential professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineer mentors within the design team.
- Take ownership of specific portions of various projects.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
- Learn the process of developing a complete design package.
- Build skills in CAD drafting, time management, and professional communication.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program at a four-year ABET university or college.
- A targeted graduation date within one year is preferred, though we will consider students graduating within two years.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to stay organized and manage both work and academic responsibilities.
