    About the role#

    Schnabel Engineering is looking for a full-time Civil Engineering intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This position focuses on building practical knowledge by applying engineering principles to real projects under the guidance of senior staff. You will work on a variety of tasks that take place both in the office and at job sites.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform geotechnical field work, including observing subsurface exploration and conducting infiltration testing.
    • Conduct construction observation and materials testing at various project sites.
    • Complete laboratory testing procedures.
    • Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS software.
    • Assist engineers in the preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering.
    • A valid U.S. driver’s license, as driving is required for this role.
    • Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
    • Capacity to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.

    • Location: Gladstone, Michigan.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship.
