About the role#
Schneider Downs is hiring interns for the 2027 IT Risk Advisory program. You will join our Consulting Services group to work on IT compliance and advisory projects. This role involves working with public and private sector clients to test security controls and meet framework requirements. You will gain experience in governance, risk, and compliance while working as part of an engagement team.
What you'll do#
- Identify, evaluate, and document IT risks and controls.
- Assist in preparing risk assessments, audit plans, and internal audit reports.
- Perform and document walkthroughs and test results for IT processes.
- Evaluate evidence to determine if controls function effectively for SOC 1, SOC 2, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Participate in special projects including data mining, security assessments, and process flowcharting.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a student in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
- An enthusiastic approach to learning and skill development.

- Term: Summer 2027 (mid-May to mid-August).
