About the role#
This is a paid internship for Winter 2027 based in Montreal. You will work within the Scotiatrust Taxation Services unit to support the team’s business strategies and goals. The role requires full-time commitment and is strictly on-site.
What you'll do#
- Prepare income tax returns by gathering and analyzing documentation like income statements, transactions, tax slips, and capital gains statements.
- Assess client tax situations through detailed research and analysis.
- Suggest courses of action for less complex tax situations after consulting with Tax Officers or Managers.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen relationships.
- Ensure all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and the Bank’s risk appetite.
- Adhere to Global Sales Practices and business controls regarding operational, regulatory, and AML/ATF risk.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, specifically in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with tax preparation programs, Salesforce, and the Broadridge Trust System.
- Strong writing skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work with minimal direction.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Fluency in both French and English, as the role involves collaboration with teams in Toronto and English-speaking clients.
