About the role#
This is a full-time internship for the Winter 2027 semester, running from January through April. You will work on-site in Exeter, New Hampshire, supporting our manufacturing engineering team. This role focuses on the production of precision firearm components, specifically involving CNC machining and assembly.
What you'll do#
- Plan and design manufacturing processes for new and existing firearm products.
- Create budgetary estimates for tools, gages, equipment, and production rates.
- Use project management skills to procure necessary equipment for new product launches.
- Evaluate product designs to improve manufacturability using GD&T and dimensional stack-ups.
- Provide direct support on the production floor for CNC machining, assembly, metal finishing, and automation.
- Originate and develop new systems, implementing them into full-scale production.
- Debug and runoff new capital equipment to meet quality and throughput goals.
- Resolve quality issues through statistical methods and participate in problem-solving teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS or a similar CAD system.
- Working knowledge of materials, heat-treating processes, and GD&T.
- Ability to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and basic project management experience.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical subjects.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and stay organized.
