About the role#
Silverado Contractors, Inc. offers a summer internship program for students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. You will join a project team to gain experience in construction operations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Emeryville, California, lasting between 6 and 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate field conditions and perform acceptance testing.
- Support quality assurance and quality control for engineering materials.
- Review project drawings and manage RFIs and contract changes.
- Track quantities and analyze productivity to support operational efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation and updates of project schedules.
- Provide document control for submittals, correspondence, and design releases.
- Assist project engineers with the design of temporary structures using computer-aided design tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering, Construction Management, or similar program at an accredited institution.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and project management or scheduling software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel and management.
- Capacity to work productively within a team environment and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
