    About the role#

    This summer internship offers the chance to work on projects that address real operational challenges at Simmons Foods. You will balance project work with daily tasks to gain a practical understanding of our processes. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings to senior leaders and your team.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead projects that align with department needs while applying skills from your field of study.
    • Build a culture of continuous improvement to refine processes and reduce waste.
    • Ensure quality performance meets or exceeds USDA and FDA guidelines.
    • Participate in team meetings and support the implementation of company programs and policies.
    • Maintain familiarity with Simmons operating systems, including security and quality protocols.
    • Perform physical tasks such as working on your feet for several hours, working in various temperatures, and lifting at least 10 pounds.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Agriculture.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
    • Knowledge of business and management principles.
    • Willingness to take initiative and offer direction.
    • Experience in manufacturing or poultry environments is preferred.

    • Location: Southwest City, Missouri.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Status: Full-time, on-site, and paid.
    • Note: This role does not offer sponsorship.
