About the role#
This internship provides experience in plant operations at Simmons Foods. You will work on a specific project to solve a real-world facility problem and present your findings to leadership. You will also handle daily tasks to learn process fundamentals and contribute to team goals.
What you'll do#
- Complete a project that applies your field of study to a facility challenge.
- Perform daily tasks to understand how our processes work.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement by finding ways to reduce waste.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and USDA/FDA guidelines.
- Join team meetings to help implement policies and solve problems collaboratively.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Ability to work on your feet for several hours.
- Ability to work in various temperatures and lift at least 10 pounds.
