About the role#
This internship at Simmons Foods offers the chance to work on real projects that affect our operations. You will balance a primary project with daily tasks to learn the fundamentals of our processes. The program encourages cross-functional relationships and personal growth throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Solve real-world problems within your assigned department or facility.
- Present your project work to the team and senior leadership at the end of the summer.
- Identify ways to improve processes and remove waste to support a continuous improvement culture.
- Participate in team meetings and help implement team policies.
- Coordinate work with team members to ensure best practices.
- Maintain familiarity with Simmons operating systems and support company objectives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various temperatures and wear required personal protective equipment.
