About the role#
We are looking for an intern with a background in ASL linguistics and technology to join our generation team for a 6-month period. This role bridges the gap between ASL linguistics and technology. What you'll do#
- Gloss and annotate ASL Classifier video data.
- Design a CL inventory to be added to our dictionary, culminating in a demo at the end of your internship.
- Perform high-level feature labeling and minimal pair analysis.
- Assist in designing evaluations, such as A/B testing, for CL outputs.
What you'll need#
- Native ASL signing skills.
- A background in linguistics, computer science, data science, or a combination of these fields.
- An interest in sign language generation technology.
- Comfort using video annotation tools or performing basic data analysis.
- Familiarity with ASL classifier systems is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- The position is based on a rolling term schedule.
