About the role#
As a Student Optician at Specsavers, you will play a key role in helping customers see and feel their best. You will guide them through their eyewear choices, ensuring every pair of glasses is tailored for comfort, style, and function. Working under the supervision of a Licensed Optician, you will collaborate with our retail and clinical teams to support customers with personalized advice.
What you'll do#
- Assist customers in understanding their visual needs and interpreting optical prescriptions.
- Provide personalized guidance on frame and lens selection.
- Perform accurate dispensing measurements using digital tools and conduct quality checks.
- Maintain strong knowledge of frames, lenses, treatments, and current promotions.
- Manage after-care services and resolve customer concerns.
- Handle third-party billing and ensure compliance with fee structures.
- Support contact lens recommendations.
- Contribute to daily store operations, including inventory management and maintaining brand standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry post-secondary program.
- At least 2 years of previous customer service experience.
- Ability to stay organized and composed in a busy retail environment.
- Reliability and flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends.
- A friendly, outgoing demeanor and a focus on building long-term customer relationships.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Location & details#
- Location: 2029 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 24 hours per week, with weekend availability required.
- Status: Paid, part-time position.
