About the role#
Specter Aerospace is looking for an Embedded Software Co-op for a 4-6 month cycle to support the development of hypersonic flight vehicles. You will work alongside electrical, mechanical, and GNC engineers to build systems for experimental and flight vehicle programs. We provide our co-ops with the same project ownership and resources as our full-time staff.
What you'll do#
- Develop, integrate, and test embedded software for avionics, vehicle controllers, and ground-support equipment.
- Implement software for ARM-based microcontrollers and other embedded computing platforms.
- Support software integration with vehicle components like sensors, actuators, and communication systems.
- Create test plans and procedures for software debugging, characterization, and verification.
- Manage assigned projects from the initial concept phase through testing and final documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
- Experience programming in C, C++, or similar embedded systems languages.
- Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals and object-oriented programming.
- Ability to work independently.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

- Compensation: $23-$30 per hour.
