About the role#
Specter Aerospace is looking for a Computational Design Engineer Co-Op for a 4-6 month cycle. You will join our team in Peabody, Massachusetts, to support the design and analysis of high-speed airbreathing testbed vehicles. This role provides the same project ownership and resources as our full-time staff.
What you'll do#
- Create reusable computational geometry models to move hypersonic vehicles from requirements to design.
- Support the development of design and analysis tools for high-speed systems.
- Work with mechanical, design, aerodynamics, propulsion, and software engineers to define I/O and build parametric geometry models that connect to analysis tools.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, or a related field.
- Experience with computational design software and familiarity with implicit modeling concepts like signed distance functions, level sets, and Boolean operations.
- Previous CAD or design experience gained in a technical shop, lab, or student organization.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering and physics principles such as statics, materials, thermodynamics, and fluids.

- This position is based on-site in Peabody, Massachusetts.
- The term for this co-op is Summer 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
