About the role#
As a Manufacturing Intern at Stanley Black & Decker, you will gain hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. This paid, part-time internship typically lasts 10 to 12 weeks. You will work on-site in Mission, Texas, observing daily operations and supporting engineering projects. This role offers insight into the manufacturing of power tools and provides exposure to plant operations.
What you'll do#
- Observe day-to-day manufacturing processes, equipment, and facility systems.
- Assist with basic engineering calculations, data collection, and analysis.
- Support troubleshooting activities for mechanical systems, manufacturing equipment, and facility utilities.
- Prepare and update inventory reports and related data.
- Support the creation and revision of work instructions and standard procedures.
- Provide support on the shop floor, including collecting samples and monitoring production runs.
- Request and track resins and other materials needed for production.
- Update and maintain production run information.
- Verify material usage on the shop floor.
- Organize and maintain department documents and records.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year college or university with Junior or Senior standing.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Enthusiasm for learning and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
