About the role#
The Demand Planning Intern will support the supply chain team in St. Paul by improving forecast visibility and data-driven decision-making. You will work with planners and business partners to analyze demand trends, forecast performance, and product patterns. This role focuses on using data analytics, Power BI, and emerging AI tools to improve forecast quality and planning efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Analyze demand planning data to identify trends, forecast gaps, and opportunities to improve accuracy.
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards to improve visibility into key business metrics and planning exceptions.
- Clean, organize, and validate data from multiple sources to support reporting and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reports, forecast reviews, or exception tracking through Excel or AI tools.
- Apply AI concepts to explore practical use cases like demand signal analysis, forecast summarization, and insight generation.
- Prepare clear summaries and visualizations for supply chain and commercial stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Status as a rising junior or senior.
- Interest in demand planning, forecasting, data visualization, and business process improvement.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar analytics tools.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with large data sets and translate findings into insights.
- Effective communication, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new digital tools.
