About the role#
Steel Technologies is hiring an IT Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a paid, full-time position based at our corporate office in Louisville, Kentucky. You will work on business projects, collaborate with our team, and gain hands-on experience with technical problem-solving.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Configure and set up new computers and deploy software.
- Join various IT project teams to learn about networks, servers, and application development.
- Analyze data from existing systems to suggest improvements for performance and security.
- Manage an individual project to build your professional skills while addressing real-world IT challenges.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree program.
- A basic understanding of IT infrastructure components like databases, network devices, and cloud systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week.
Location & details#
- This internship is fully on-site in Louisville, Kentucky.
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a 10-panel drug screening, which includes marijuana.
