About the role#
Steffes is hiring a Quality Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site position is based in Grand Forks, North Dakota. You will support our manufacturing processes by monitoring capacity, capability, and quality standards across our production shop.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and evaluate current work methods, procedures, and documentation systems.
- Lead quality assurance and improvement projects, including defining goals and reporting results.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for nonconformance reports.
- Create, document, and maintain standard work instructions and procedures.
- Conduct tool and device calibrations, including managing third-party services.
- Use our ERP system to record inspection data and track production acceptance criteria.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management, organization, and planning skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a production environment.
- Physical ability to lift 70 pounds, carry 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 100 pounds, as well as climb ladders and stairs.
