About the role#
This is a paid, 40-hour per week, hands-on internship designed to prepare you for a career in retail leadership. You will work alongside mentors and store managers to learn how to lead a team, manage operations, and drive business results. This program provides a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role at Target.
What you'll do#
- Lead and motivate a team while identifying and working toward store priorities.
- Teach, coach, and train team members while delivering timely performance feedback.
- Drive guest experience and impact the store's financial and operational performance.
- Assist with daily retail operations, including stocking shelves, building displays, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to identify and follow up on opportunity areas.
- Participate in daily huddles and planning sessions to organize store goals.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Leadership skills and the ability to think in a team-oriented way.
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
- This internship takes place on-site.
- Positions are available in Summerville, SC; Savannah, GA; Charleston, SC; and Mount Pleasant, SC.
- The program runs during the summer of 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
