About the role#
This is a paid, 40-hour per week summer internship designed to prepare you for a career in store leadership. You will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working closely with mentors and team members. The program focuses on developing your understanding of retail business operations, leadership, and team management.
What you'll do#
- Spend time on the salesfloor and in the backroom leading team members and aligning on daily business priorities.
- Work alongside your Executive Team Lead mentor to gain insight into their daily responsibilities.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered to help shoppers.
- Lead and present at daily huddles with your peer and leadership teams.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks within the store to support business needs.
- Partner with leaders to provide performance feedback, coach team members, and address concerns.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to identify and troubleshoot areas for improvement.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Leadership skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
- Ability to climb ladders, handle cash register operations, and move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Psychology, or Communications.
