About the role#
This internship is a paid, 40-hour per week, hands-on training program designed to prepare you for store leadership. As a Store Executive Intern, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work alongside managers and team members to understand how the retail business functions and what is required to excel in a management position. This program focuses on developing your leadership skills through daily operations, team motivation, and guest service.
What you'll do#
- Spend your days on the salesfloor and in the backroom leading team members and aligning them on daily business priorities.
- Work alongside an Executive Team Lead mentor to gain an understanding of their role and department leadership.
- Address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead and support daily operations, including stocking shelves, building displays, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Partner with other leaders to provide performance feedback, coaching, and training to team members.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered to assist guests.
- Participate in daily huddles, plan daily goals, and review business reporting to troubleshoot opportunity areas.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Effective communication skills and a welcoming, helpful attitude.
- The ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to technology needs.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to climb ladders, scan merchandise, and frequently lift or move items up to 44 pounds.
