About the role#
This paid, 40-hour per week internship offers a hands-on preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work alongside an experienced mentor to learn how to manage a retail business, lead team members, and drive operational results. This program focuses on developing your management skills through daily store operations and leadership responsibilities.
What you'll do#
- Lead team members and align them on daily business priorities.
- Work alongside your Executive Team Lead mentor to understand their role and department management.
- Address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by engaging with shoppers and resolving their needs.
- Plan daily goals and organize work tasks within the building.
- Partner with leaders to provide performance feedback and training to team members.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to identify and troubleshoot operational opportunities.
- Participate in daily huddles and provide summaries of results to the leadership team.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in working in retail management.
- Leadership skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Effective communication skills.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Proficiency in learning and adapting to store technology and equipment.

- Locations: Grand Rapids, MI and Battle Creek, MI.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
