About the role#
This is a paid, 40-hour per week, hands-on training program designed to prepare you for store leadership. As a Stores Executive Intern, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work alongside mentors and store managers to learn how Target’s retail business functions and what it takes to succeed in a management position. This internship focuses on leading teams, identifying store priorities, and ensuring an excellent guest experience.
What you'll do#
- Lead and motivate a team while identifying and working towards store priorities.
- Drive sales results and merchandise products.
- Provide coaching, training, and timely performance feedback to team members.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks within the building.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable.
- Partner with leaders to address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles.
- Participate in daily huddles and provide summaries of results.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in working in retail.
- Leadership skills and team-oriented thinking.
- Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
- Ability to frequently lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and access all areas of the building.
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Marketing, or Human Resources.
