About the role#
The Store Executive Intern program is a paid, 40-hour per week training experience designed to prepare you for a future in retail leadership. Over the course of the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work alongside mentors and store managers to learn how a retail business functions while gaining hands-on experience leading teams and driving store performance.
What you'll do#
- Lead a retail team and align them on daily business priorities.
- Drive guest experience and impact the store's financial and operational success.
- Work with a mentor to learn how to lead a department effectively.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks within the building.
- Coach and provide feedback to team members to improve performance.
- Address team concerns and remove obstacles to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in daily huddles and present results to the leadership team.
- Manage workload and merchandise products while maintaining a safe environment.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in retail management.
- Leadership skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Capability to handle merchandise, including lifting up to 44 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
