About the role#
Texas AirSystems is hiring a Sales/Project Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Austin. This full-time, paid internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028. You will report to an Account Manager or Sales Leader and gain experience in the HVAC industry by coordinating equipment selection, pricing, and project documentation.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain job files for each project throughout its duration.
- Optimize projects through product selection, specifications, plans, estimates, proposals, value engineering, and redesigns.
- Manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
- Read, understand, and interpret building plans and specifications.
- Organize project-related data for order entry.
- Communicate with owners, architects, MEP consultants, and various contractors to ensure timely project completion.
- Respond to and track submittal requests.
- Develop relationships with customers, contractors, and manufacturers.
- Investigate concerns and implement corrective actions to maintain customer satisfaction.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, estimating, engineering, construction management, or a contracting environment.
- Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with partners and peers.
