    About the role#

    This internship offers practical experience with the protection and control of electrical power systems at AES Ohio. You will work directly with staff engineers to support the reliability of the transmission and distribution network.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform electrical calculations, coordination studies, and short circuit studies.
    • Design relay logic to develop settings that detect and isolate faults on the system.
    • Produce detailed engineering documentation that meets AES Ohio and industry standards such as IEEE and NERC.
    • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a four-year degree program for Electrical or Computer Engineering.
    • Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
    • A strong academic record.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, is preferred.

    • This is an on-site position based in Dayton, Ohio.
    • The role is for the Summer 2027 term.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship.
