About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of Buckle’s retail business. This role focuses on developing leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills while contributing to the store mission of creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. You will receive hands-on experience in store operations and management practices.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, such as assisting guests, processing transactions, and maintaining store displays.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics for various departments or tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university in a field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Human Resources.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- A genuine interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- This position is located in Mason City, Iowa.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
