About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position provides an opportunity to develop leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills within a retail environment. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how the business operates and what is required to excel in management. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Perform retail tasks including cashiering, merchandise display, and register procedures.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to Area and District Managers.
- Recruit potential teammates using internal tools and referral methods.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
