About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on supporting the retail business at The Buckle, Inc. You will work closely with store management to learn how the business operates while contributing to the store mission of creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. This is a paid, on-site internship that offers the opportunity to develop leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering and register procedures.
- Develop an understanding of product lines, sales presentation, and the merchandising process.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required sections of the management manual.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
