About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern at The Buckle, you will work directly with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of retail operations and business management. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in leadership, merchandising, and sales strategy within a retail environment. You will be expected to maintain a positive floor culture while working toward a long-term commitment with the company.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, register procedures, and maintaining store displays.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates, and tracking your results.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members while fostering a positive work environment.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to Area and District Managers.
- Develop a deep understanding of retail business operations by completing sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program at a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term professional commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes mornings, evenings, and weekends.
