About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while learning the fundamentals of retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how the business operates and what it takes to succeed in a leadership role. This internship provides hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and store operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily sales and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and register procedures.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Develop core skills in recruiting, merchandising, and team leadership.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
