About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the store manager to learn the retail business and develop your leadership skills. This role focuses on providing a positive shopping experience for our guests while you gain hands-on experience in store operations, merchandising, and team management.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering, stocking, and maintaining store facilities.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker to monitor department tools.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Assist guests with product recommendations, fitting room service, and checkout procedures.
- Handle freight, prepare displays, and complete price markdowns to keep the store organized.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management from a four-year college or university.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- You are physically able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- You are comfortable working a flexible schedule that includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
