About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the operations of our retail business. You will gain hands-on experience in leadership, recruiting, and merchandising while focusing on our mission to provide an enjoyable shopping experience for our guests. This is a full-time, on-site role that offers a path to understand what it takes to excel in retail management.
What you'll do#
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics through the Performance Tracker.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering and creating merchandise displays.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or a relevant field.
- A genuine interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- The physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
